Top tips for cleaning your conservatory
Conservatories can make a great addition to your loving home, but they require a determination to keep them clean and looking fresh. Here at Aqua Team UK we know that cleaning your entire conservatory is no easy task, so we’ve provided some conservatory cleaning tips to help make the job more enjoyable.
Top Tip No1
Start at the top and work your way down
While everyone has their own way of cleaning the conservatory, starting from the bottom and working your way up could be counter productive!. Working your way upwards can leave your clean areas exposed to dirty grime and water from higher up can drip down and ruin all your hard work already put in.

To prevent doing more work than you need to, we always suggest starting at the top of the windows and working downwards. Not only does this save time but it can save energy and water too. Any water that trickles down while you focus on cleaning the top of your conservatory can help to lubricate tough-to-move dirt further down the conservatory.
Top Tip No2
Clean the gutters
While you’re at it cleaning the gutters is a must. Weeds/debris can easily get caught in drainpipes and gutters. This not only creates an eyesore but can also interfere with the flow of water. The good news is that gutters are usually low maintenance and only require being cleaned out twice a year.
If you come across blockages you can always try tackle this yourself, but we highly recommend giving us a call due to the health a safety risks behind cleaning gutters.
Top Tip No3
Clean the inside!
Conservatory cleaning doesn’t just involve cleaning the outside areas - the inside matters just the same!
That horrid mould and mildew love moist conditions and can make themselves at home if your conservatory is poorly ventilated.
Give your conservatory interior a thorough clean to remove any pesky contaminants that could build up if left in thriving conditions for the mould and mildew.
Top Tip No4
Little, but often
Doing smaller tasks such as wiping down your window frames and windowsills regularly can take make life easier further down the line. Regular cleaning can prevent the build-up of dirt and dust, thus saving you time and effort in the long run.
Top Tip No5
Wipe down the exterior & Interior framework!
You can clean your exterior and interior conservatory framework with some hot soapy water and a sponge.
Be sure to only use soapy water on the window framework - using soapy water on window panes creates those odd looking streak marks. Clean the window frames first before tackling the conservatory window glass to prevent any residue from falling onto freshly cleaned window panes. Use a duster or an old paintbrush to loosen any debris, dirt or dust that has collected around the frame.

After removing the looser dirt you can get to work on those more stubborn bits.. Once you’re finished tackling the window frames, give your windowsill a good thorough wipe down and use your hoover to pick up any debris that has made its way to the floor. Placing old towels down underneath each window prior to cleaning can also catch any dirt as well as protect your flooring
Top Tip No6
Use products that are effective
If you’ve not cleaned your conservatory for some time then it’s likely you’ll need a little more than just soapy water to do the job properly. When it comes to cleaning conservatory window panes, soapy water is probably not the answer due to it leaving potential streaks thus ruining the appearance of a nice clean conservatory.
